Over the past three-quarters of a century, the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race has developed a rich heritage and a revered status as one of the world’s toughest ocean racing contests. Organized by the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, in conjunction with the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania, the race has started from Sydney Harbour on 26 December each and every year since the very first in 1944.
